The IP Federation welcomes the Government’s recently published Trade Strategy. Our 43 influential and innovative member companies operate in a very wide range of countries and industrial sectors, and extend, for example, from a quantum computing startup to clean energy to life sciences and to defence. We particularly appreciate the Trade Strategy’s focus on delivering serious and early benefits for businesses operating abroad, and that it forms part of an integrated approach with the Modern Industrial Strategy. In all sectors and markets, intellectual property rights (IPRs) play a critical role in enabling innovative businesses to export, build cross-border value chains, and invest with confidence.

The IP Federation looks forward to responding positively to the Government’s commitment to work closely with stakeholders in implementing this strategy, and to promoting the right IP environments in export markets which will be essential to both trade and growth.
