Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have always been welcome in the IP Federation, but we recognise their requirements may be different from that of our corporate members. Thus, the IP Federation is pleased to welcome SMEs as SME Associates, strengthening the voice of innovative UK businesses within the Federation.

SME Associate affiliation is open to organisations that:

• Have a turnover of less than €10 million
• Operate an intellectual property team of fewer than five people
• Have a presence in the UK

SME Associates benefit from access to timely information on legal developments, political updates and IP best practice. They are also invited to participate in the SME Committee, which provides a forum for sharing experience, developing best practice, and agreeing SME perspectives on policy issues.

Importantly, the SME Committee will hold an observer seat on the IP Federation Council, ensuring that SME views are fed directly into Council discussions and considered when policy positions are developed.

For innovative SMEs, SME Associate affiliation of the IP Federation offers a practical route to engage with IP policy, stay informed, and contribute to the collective voice of UK industry on intellectual property matters.
