This morning at the WTO Public Forum 2026, “Powering the Future“, in Geneva, Dr Bobby Mukherjee, former President and current member representative of the IP Federation, joined the panel discussion SMEs and Services for MSMEs. The session, chaired by Ambassador Matthew Wilson, explored the opportunities and challenges facing micro, small and medium-sized enterprises operating across borders.
Bobby’s participation followed a busy week in Geneva for the IP Federation, including the launch at WIPO of Intellectual Property in Action: Turning Innovation Around the World into Commercial Impact, the latest report produced jointly by ICC United Kingdom, CIPA and the IP Federation, when he was accompanied by IP Federation colleagues Kevin Scott and Sarah Palmer, as well as Neil Lampert from CIPA. Featuring case studies from the UK, Brazil and South Africa, the report highlights how intellectual property helps innovative businesses attract investment, develop partnerships, commercialise new technologies and expand into international markets.
The WTO Public Forum brings together policymakers, businesses and international organisations from around the world to discuss the future of global trade. We are proud that the role that intellectual property plays in supporting growth, investment and technological development formed part of that conversation.
